The process of enamelling is one of the most demanding among the metal workers' and jewellers' skills.  The enameller requires a whole spectrum of technical expertise - the chemistry of glazes, kiln temperatures as well as the ability to construct metal forms suitable to contain the intended designs.

At its highest level, enamelling demands an almost painterly approach,the exercise is one which asks for a talent which combines several artistic disciplines with meticulous craftsmanship.

Enamel is a perfect medium to create lasting images.  Despite its built-in fragility, there are many priceless enamels in public and private collections.  These enamel treasures have survived perfectly the ravages of time.
